Outstanding Service Award
Sara Concini, NC State University
This award honors an NCACE member who has made a significant contribution to NCACE through participation on committees, demonstrated leadership, or developed a new program or concept that has impacted the association.

Sara has served NCACE in a variety of roles over the past several years including Conference Programs Co-Chair, Treasurer, and Conference Co-Chair. Her dedication to NCACE has been truly unwavering despite events in her personal life that kept her away from work. She is an organized and efficient leader, who leads in a way that demonstrates her genuine care for her profession, students and NCACE colleagues.

Lisa Tandan
Presidential Recognition Award
Lisa Tandan, Forsyth Technical Community College

This recognition, selected by the President with input from the Executive Board, honors a recipient(s) who has been an NCACE member for a minimum of one year and a maximum of four years, and has demonstrated notable contributions to NCACE, career services and/or college recruitment. It is meant to recognize emerging leaders within the association and field who have gone “above and beyond.”

Lisa Tandan has been an active member of NCACE for nearly 3 years and has served the organization as a chair of an NCACE committee for 2 years. During this time she has made great strides for the benefit of our members.  Always open minded, willing to try new things and open to a challenge, she has chaired a team that has led the re-design process of our NCACE website. She had the vision to create an engaging and interactive site where members and prospective members could easily find the information they were seeking. She has spent countless hours collaborating with the web designer to communicate exactly what we need and how we envision our site. In addition, through her efforts our organization has been given funds through donations for the purchase of a laptop and software so that we have the ability to make quick updates and provide a timely and relevant site for all. She has also investigated improved listserv options for our organization. All of these efforts are so valuable as we offer our current and prospective members timely information and great resources.

Outstanding Employer Award
Credit Suisse

This award honors an NCACE employer that has continuous membership in the Association for a minimum of three years; made a significant contribution to NCACE through participation as an officer, on committees, or attendance at NCACE functions; or sponsored conference events, workshops, visitations, etc. that have provided a positive impact on the association.

Credit Suisse is an international company with more than 47,000 employees in over 400 locations around the globe. Credit Suisse places a strong emphasis on corporate responsibility, from its commitment to its employees, communities and the environment.  They have been greenhouse gas neutral worldwide since June 2010. But the real reason Credit Suisse has been chosen as Outstanding Employer for NCACE in 2011 is its people.  Jane Mehringer and Kristen Smith are both an integral part of our organization, serving in important conference planning roles. In the words of her own team member Kristen, Jane truly wants the best for the students she works with “even if that means a student choosing to work outside of Credit Suisse”!  Credit Suisse has also been a generous sponsor of NCACE’s conference for the past two years. In a time of hiring cuts, freezes, and general uncertainty in the job market, Credit Suisse has demonstrated their commitment to the value of college-employer relationships in competing worldwide.
