Membership Eligibility and Types
NCACE membership is open to those individuals who are actively engaged in the employment function in North Carolina in regionally accredited, postsecondary educational institutions. Those individuals actively engaged in and/or those who have overall responsibility for recruitment, selection, and employment within their own organizations through the above organizations are eligible for membership. There are four membership types:
- Regular Member: Individuals who meet the eligibility requirements (outlined above) and who are currently employed in human resources or career services.
- Retired Member: Regular members in good standing who retire and desire to retain membership are eligible.
- Student Member: Those pursuing careers in either career services or human resources/ staffing are invited to join NCACE.
- Honorary Lifetime Member: Lifetime membership can be given to individuals who are no longer eligible for regular membership and who have made a notable contribution in the field of career services/recruitment/
selection/employment and to the Association.
Section 2: Affiliate Membership.
Affiliate membership may be granted to organizations that provide a service or product to career services and/or college relations/human resources staffing functions. The mission and purpose of these organizations must be complementary and supportive of the mission and purposes of NCACE, as determined by the Membership Committee, consisting of Membership Chair, President Elect, President and Past President. Affiliate membership may include organizations such as: publishers of career materials, technology organizations that provide supporting software and system platforms that directly relate to the operational functions of college recruitment or college and university career services, advertising firms, media organizations, consultants in college recruiting for an institutional employer/college member, college/university faculty, and supervising managers for a regular college/university or employer member. Affiliate members may attend conferences and workshops, and may serve on committees. However, Affiliate members may not vote or hold positions on the Executive Board. If a violation of solicitation is presented to the Membership Committee, it is up for review by the committee and could result in immediate removal from NCACE.
