Director of the Career Center

Reporting to the AVCSA, the Director of the Career Center provides leadership and vision for the department in an effort to maintain and expand UNC Pembroke’s comprehensive career services for students and alumni. The Director of the Career Center provides strategic direction for all career development programs and services, including employer relations, career counseling, job search assistance, graduate school counseling, and internship development. The Director leads efforts to increase the visibility, support, and sponsorship of career development activities, enhance existing services, and benchmark with similar institutions to identify best practices.

Job Location & Development Coordinator

VCU Career Services in Richmond, VA seeks to hire a full-time Career Advisor focusing on Exploration & Transitions. This role will directly advise students, liaise with academic departments, give presentations, design programs, and have the option to teach a for-credit career development course. This is a Master’s level position, ideal for someone who has held a relevant graduate assistantship/internship, currently works in an advising-related role on a college campus and wants to switch functional areas into Career Services, and/or has worked closely with college students and new professionals in a corporate or nonprofit setting, through recruiting, training & development, or supervision. Assistant Director for Marketing/Career Coaching

Seeking a committed and experienced professional who has thrived in complex, fast-paced environments where innovation, initiative, and production are highly valued. S/he will be experienced in career services, higher education, or organizational development side of business and/or bring a deep familiarity with trends and challenges in recruitment, development, or client management. The AD should show experience and competency around project management, marketing/communication strategies, coaching/consulting individuals, and the ability to sustain relationships. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable utilizing technology in the field, building and delivering presentations, and have well-developed interpersonal marketing and communication competencies.
