The Assistant Director for University Career Services (UCS) is responsible for providing career counseling and support to students when selecting a major and career direction, planning for their career goals, learning effective job search skills and strategies, and finding part-time jobs, internships and post-graduation employment. The Assistant Director will work with alumni, employers and potential employers of UNC students, and also assist graduate students to find part-time jobs, internships and employment. UCS services include helping students learn about career fields, career planning, career assessments, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, networking, job searching, and graduate school planning. The position may serve as an instructor of EDUC 111, EDUC 211, or EDUC 311 as appropriate, accomplished through a secondary faculty appointment. The Assistant Director reports to one of the two Associate Directors of UCS. The position may be located in either Hanes Hall or in the Hardin Hub for Career and Academic Advising, and required to adjust work hours to meet student and organizational needs.
