The North Carolina Association of Colleges and Employers (NCACE) “brings together all facets of the business, industrial, governmental and post-secondary level educational institutions within North Carolina which are involved in placement, employment, and utilization of personnel.” Our mission has not changed but the way we deliver these partnerships is evolving.
Collaboration and communication are foundations to the success of NCACE as we bring together organizations looking to meet hiring needs and educational institutions. Today more than ever, the work that we do within NCACE contributes to the success of our respective positions, regions and the state of North Carolina.
I had the fortunate privilege of joining NCACE in 2012 and attending my first conference in Wilmington, NC. When I relocated to North Carolina as a new graduate, I wanted to get involved with an organization that could be a resource for me both professionally and personally. I found this with NCACE. Since then, I have had the opportunity to serve NCACE in several roles that include; conference sponsorship, conference co-chair, Eastern Regional Representative and most recently Employer Visitation and Professional Development.
In these roles and partnering with NCACE members, I always leave events, meetings, and conferences energized. Energized by the work we do, by the passionate professionals who are willing to go above and beyond their job descriptions, and by the strengthen connections created through working together to achieve a unified goal.
I strongly encourage NCACE members to get involved and start small. Attend a regional meet up, login to a webinar, register for the leadership institute, volunteer at a philanthropy event or even start with opening the newsletter emails and clicking a few links to explore! These are so many great opportunities to get involved and stay connected, do not wait, start today!
As we move into the 2019-2020 year, I look forward to seeing members at events, community service-initiatives, and our annual conference in late spring. Make sure to follow us on social media through Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn to stay informed and look out for the monthly newsletter “The Flying Ace” for upcoming events and important announcements.
I look forward to strengthening our professional community and increasing engagement opportunities for our membership. Please do not hesitate to connect with me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have an interest in joining or supporting NCACE this year.
