NCACE GIVES BACK

2024 NCACE PHILANTHROPY PROJECTS

Each year NCACE members contribute to the greater good by participating in projects to improve the communities that we live, work, and play in.

Katie Geise Memorial River Walk

To recognize the incredible contributions of Katie Geise over her many years of service with the organization, the NCACE 2024 Conference will include the Katie Geise Memorial River Riverwalk. We will meet at the Riverwalk next to Hotel Ballast’s outdoor bar at 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 16. We encourage folks to bring their walking shoes (and rain gear just in case) and join with others in a space to remember Katie. Everyone is welcome regardless of how well you knew Katie. Donations are encouraged to walk, but not required (more on that below).

We were fortunate to call Katie a part of the NCACE family. During her time with NCACE, Katie served in many positions, including Membership and Conference Programming. She also represented her employer, Reynolds American, who was recognized with the Outstanding Employer Award in 2020-2021 for services rendered to NCACE.

Below you can find information on two organizations that were near and dear to Katie if you would like to donate in her name. You are welcome to donate to organizations that are important to you in Katie's name as well. Learn more here about Katie and her life outside of NCACE .

Azalea Festival Book Drive Partnership

In honor of this year’s conference being held in Wilmington, NCACE is partnering with the NC Azalea Festival for one of our philanthropic projects! Wilmington is home to the North Carolina Azalea Festival and is one of the most highly regarded festivals in the country, generating over 50 million dollars of revenue annually. This year NCACE is partnering with the Azalea Festival by hosting a book drive for their school of the year: Rocky Point Elementary School. You may participate in the book drive by purchasing a book from this Amazon Registry Link.
